Health and Safety

Visitors to our School:

ALL VISITORS must check in at the front office when entering the school and sign the visitors notebook. Head Start and CSPP parents must take a colored pass before going to the classrooms to pick up their child.

Children must be supervised at all times.

No sitting on counter tops.

Please do not use your cell phone on campus.

No running in the hallways.

Parking Lot Safety: (Please see map of school)

Visitors and parents dropping children off for school will need to park in the visitor parking area in front of the school or in the parking lot located off of Desert Club Dr. at the end of the cul-de-sac.

Please do not park in the red bus loading zones located on Springtime Way.

Drive slowly as there are many little people and hurried parents coming and going from campus.

Always hold your child's hand in the parking lot.

NEVER leave your child unattended in the car.

Healthy Habits for Learning:

Please provide your child with regular sleep of 11- 12 hours per night.

Teach your child good hand washing habits to stop the spread of germs.

Limit TV and computer time and encourage daily, physical activity.

Provide boundaries for acceptable behavior at home.

Keep your child home for 24 hours fever free before sending them back to school (see Health Flyer for Parents).

Emergency Preparedness:

All staff are trained in Earthquake, Fire and Lock-down procedures.

A School Safety Plan is in place in coordination with DSUSD.

Monthly fire drills are conducted so all staff and students know what to do in case of an emergency.

In the event of an emergency, students will evacuate the building and go the large grassy area on the east side of the school.
