Dear Parents and Students,
Welcome to Adams Early Childhood Learning Center (ECLC) and to a new school year! For those students and parents who are returning to Adams ECLC, we hope you had a wonderful summer break and are eager to start a new school year. For those students and families that are new to us, we are excited to have you join our family. Each new school year brings with it anticipation, excitement and many transitions for children, families and staff. A new school year is a time of new beginnings and opportunities.
At Adams ECLC we focus on the following goals:
Social Emotional Development
Language Development and Play
Family and Community Engagement
Student and School Safety
Use of Evidence Based Practices
The staff and students at Adams ECLC teach and uphold the ANTS expectations which align with the Frog Street commitments:
Always Help Others (evidences by helping hands, thoughtful choices and listening ears)
Nice Words (evidenced by using a big voice)
Take Turns (evidenced by sharing with one another)
Stay Safe (evidenced by using walking feet and gentle hands)
In our classes you will see staff and students implementing Conscious Discipline to help children recognize and manage their emotions, and, at the same time themselves, in the company of others. This is done through connecting with their teachers and peers, use of calming strategies (ex: deep breathing), and daily commitments or "agreements" to keep the classroom and school a safe place to be for everyone.
It is my hope that you will find the information on the Adams ECLC a valuable resource regarding the preschool programs, policies and procedures, resources, and school safety. Please take time to peruse the website to familiarize yourself with its contents to ensure a successful school year at Adams ECLC. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the Adams ECLC staff at (760) 777-4260.
Sincerely,
Maria Moore, Principal
